The Client
HRL Limited is an Australian owned energy, technology and project development company. The HRL Group of companies employs more that 600 people in more than 20 offices throughout Australia. HRL owns and operates a number of energy plants including a 170 MW power station/co-generation facility in Morwell, Victoria (through its subsidiary Energy Brix Australia) and several energy facilities in regional Victoria.
Together with new project developments, these operations are underpinned by high level technical service capabilities. These capabilities are particularly relevant to the coal, power generation and other heavy industries, including petrochemical, oil and gas refineries and the mining industry.
Through its subsidiaries (ACIRL, ETRS and HRL Technology), HRL provides process engineering, coal testing and combustion evaluation, environmental and materials technology services to industry in Australia and overseas.
The Challenge
HRL group required a new website as well as a content management system to allow self management of the HRL website and its subsidaries. “Not knowing much about web technology and practice, we have employed a consultant to help us document our requirements for a tender,” says Marilyn Hogben. For more complex requirements, PowerFront know that it is absolutely mandatory to take the time with the customer to get it right the first time.
“A number of companies responded to the tender, but PowerFront were the only company who came out and took the time to do a presentation to us. To our delight PowerFront actually started by explaining what the Internet is and how components such as search engines fit together. There was no question in our mind that PowerFront was the right company for the job.”
