From mobile phones to computers, washing machines, and televisions, LG Electronics has been manufacturing and distributing consumer electronics since it first produced a radio in 1958.

The LG Electronics brand was launched in Australia in 1997. An innovative product range, supported by extensive marketing campaigns has led to strong sales growth.

A Platform of Marketing success in Australia has been the slogan 'LG, Life’s Good'. The slogan has cemented the company in the hearts and minds of Australian consumers and successfully communicates LG Electronics' underlying goal and vision - to make life easier with people-friendly technology.

The Challenge
In 2005, LG Electronics had radio advertising booked for 7 November and made a last minute decision mid-October to include a competition. LG Electronics needed a website and competition database created quickly. A deadline their normal agencies couldn’t possibly meet the deadline.

Darren adds, “As a major player in the Australian market place, LG needed a company that could provide a robust solution in a quick turnaround time.”

LG Electronics and PowerFront
On 19 October 2005, LG Electronics engaged PowerFront to complete a website by 7 November to coincide with a competition being advertised on national radio.

In just 5 days, PowerFront created the website to LG Electronics’ exact requirements and was delivered on time under extreme deadline pressures.

On the first day of the competition, the website had 17.5 thousand visitors and was able to serve this enormous number of users without missing a beat. In that month, the website served 65.5 thousand visitors and over 10 thousand people successfully registered for the competition.
